📖 Bio: Dulcimara da Silva is a Brazilian Portuguese teacher with over 29 years of experience teaching Portuguese and Brazilian language and literature in Brazil and Europe. She currently teaches Portuguese as a heritage language at Association Raízes in Geneva, where she also coordinates the children’s school. She also teaches Portuguese as a foreign language to adults at IFAGE and has previously taught at the CERN Welcome Club. Since September 2025, she has been President of GEplurilingue, a Geneva-based association supporting multilingualism. She holds a Master’s degree in Modern and Contemporary Portuguese Literature from the University of Lisbon and has extensive experience in language teaching, multilingual education, and the development of teaching materials for children, teenagers, and adults.

This course introduces Brazilian Portuguese to children through a playful and interactive approach. The lessons aim to develop listening and speaking skills, while encouraging confidence and interest in the Portuguese language and Brazilian culture. Through games, songs, storytelling, arts and crafts activities, and collaborative tasks, students will learn basic vocabulary and simple communication structures in a fun and immersive environment.Develop listening and speaking skills, learn basic vocabulary and everyday expressions, introduce reading and writing appropriate to the age group, promote exposure to Brazilian culture, encourage communication and interaction in Portuguese.
Brazilian Portuguese for Primary and Secondary , Intermediate and Advanced levels, available Tuesday :
This course aims to develop communicative skills in Brazilian Portuguese, while also promoting reading, writing, and exposure to Brazilian culture in a multilingual environment. The classes will combine oral communication activities, reading, writing, and cultural exploration, according to the students’ linguistic profile and interests. Develop oral and written communication in Portuguese, expand vocabulary and reading comprehension, strengthen reading and writing skills, explore aspects of Brazilian culture and literature, value plurilingualism and heritage language learning.
