A Marvelous Museum Escapade
Recently, I happened to have a chance to visit the Africa Museum in the central area of Brussels, which was truly an unique and valuable experience. The museum has a complex history, intertwined with Belgium's colonial history in Africa. In recent years, the Africa Museum has undergone a process of reassessment aimed at addressing the legacy of colonialism. This involves a critical view of the museum's collections and historical context, and seeks to present African history in a more inclusive manner.
As soon as I entered the museum, I was impressed by the tidiness of the environment and the friendliness of the staff, who were always available to answer my questions and provide necessary guidance. On the other hand, all the facilities inside were well-maintained and easy to use, which made my visit more comfortable.
The permanent collection of the museum depicts Africa's rich and diversified civilisation from prehistory to the present day, whether it was cultural or biological. I was able to explore traditional African homes, learn about ancient customs such as their musical entertainment and see exquisite artefacts that have been passed down through generations. The Museum's significant collection of traditional masks and sculptures was one of its most noteworthy attractions. The beautiful designs and vibrant colours of these artefacts were incredibly remarkable, providing an insight into Africa's rich cultural past, which left me feeling touched and inspired while walking out the Museum.
In conclusion, visiting the Africa Museum was indeed unforgettable for me thanks to the interactive exhibits. Whether you're into observing history, art, or simply looking for a unique cultural experience, I would highly recommend a visit to this Museum in Brussels.
