ARB
October 2025
Please see the computer science updates that will need to be in place for the next school year. This information will be shared with school leaders.
Computer Science Classes--Starting 26-27, All Middle and High School Campuses will be required to have a computer science offering in their master schedule. Specific course codes that will meet this requirement have not been finalized, but we want principals to know that something must be in place and plan accordingly
Energize—the free state-sponsored praxis prep course through Southeastern has two additional cohorts for the Spring and Summer.
Computer Science Pilots and Curriculum--training will be essential in ensuring our teachers are prepared for these courses. We are applying to participate in a curriculum pilot with teacher support for high school, and are in the early planning phases to provide training to our middle schools for the new course.

Key Steps & Resources
We are entering the initial phase outlining your College and Career Pathway progressions. Remember, these progressions are for TOPS U and Career Diploma students to ensure they are ready for the world of work. The question is when does this work begin. Does it begin directly after high school, after vocational traing, community college, or university? We are dedicated to providing services to ensure they are all WORKFORCE READY!
Task: Course Progressions

Beginning 25-26, students applying to CTEC must have written permission from administrator or school counselor to take classes that are offered at their home school in one of the home school’s Supported Career Focus Pathways. We want to complement and support our school CTE programs and not compete.
Example: ProStart at home school site, you must get approval to attend CTEC’s ProStart program.
