Preparation:
Each intern has an internship teacher at their school site who has been preparing our interns to report to work since the beginning of the school year, as well as, a District Lead Internship teacher who will be responsible for conducting observations throughout the school year. A member from our team will check in with you to answer any additional questions you may have.
Additional Details:
Each student must have a supervising mentor who will be their primary point of contact and responsible for their weekly work record and time reporting.

School Year Schedule Overview:
During the school year session, interns are generally scheduled to work Monday–Friday, 1:30 PM–4:30 PM on A or B days; and, are scheduled to report to their job sites beginning September 8th or September 9th. The start date is based on the student’s schedule. See a sample schedule and calendar.
A student with Sample Schedule A would begin Monday, September 8th because the Internship Course is scheduled for B Days at 8th Block. A student with Sample Schedule B would begin Tuesday, September 9th because the Internship Course is scheduled for A Days at 4th Block.

The Business Orientation and Match Day Reception are essential components of the Summer Student Internship Program. During the Business Orientation (10:00a – 11:30a), our Business Partners will learn crucial details regarding the Student Internship Program, including:
Business partner expectations before, during, and after the summer internship program
Important information regarding the employment of minors, including dos and don'ts
Methods for evaluating and tracking student interns
Helpful tips from experienced Business Partners and testimonials from past student interns
An introduction to the EBRPSS Workforce Development Team
The Match Day Reception (11:30a – 1:00p) will provide an opportunity for you to meet with your student intern(s) to discuss essential details such as:
Reporting and parking or drop-off locations
Building access procedures
Attire expectations
Report times and break schedules
Other expectations
These components are critical to ensuring a successful start and meaningful work-based learning experiences for both you, as our Business Partner, and our student interns. We hope that you or the person identified as the student interns' mentoring supervisor will be able to attend.
