🌟 Shining Star of the Week: Coach Lavergne 

This week, we are proud to recognize Coach Lavergne as our Shining Star! Coach Lavergne is a dedicated Liberty teacher who consistently goes above and beyond for her students, both in the classroom and through her support of girls basketball. She creates an environment where students feel encouraged, challenged, and valued, helping them grow academically, athletically, and personally.

Through her commitment to girls basketball, Coach Lavergne plays an important role in supporting student-athletes as they build confidence, teamwork, and discipline. She leads with positivity and purpose, reinforcing the importance of effort, accountability, and sportsmanship on and off the court. Her presence and support make a meaningful difference in the lives of the students she serves.

Coach Lavergne’s dedication, leadership, and genuine care for students have a lasting impact on our school community. We are grateful for the time, energy, and heart she brings to Liberty each day. Thank you, Coach Lavergne, for all that you do! 

🎉 Congratulations to Tori Broussard! 🎉

We are incredibly proud to announce that Tori Broussard has been named a semifinalist for the prestigious Jack Kent Cooke Foundation College Scholarship Program, and she is the only semifinalist in Baton Rouge, Louisiana!

This year, the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation selected 568 outstanding high school seniors from more than 4,100 high schools across all 50 states, Washington, DC, and U.S. territories. Being named a semifinalist is a true testament to Tori’s extraordinary academic achievement, dedication, and ambition.

The Cooke College Scholarship supports high-achieving students by helping them graduate with little to no debt, offering up to $55,000 per year, along with college planning support, ongoing advising, and access to a national network of scholars.

As a semifinalist, Tori now advances in the selection process, with scholarship recipients to be announced this spring. We wish her the very best as she takes this exciting next step in her educational journey.

📣 December Teacher of the Month Spotlight

We’re excited to recognize Ms. McMichael as our December Teacher of the Month!

Ms. McMichael’s classroom is a place where thinking runs deep and learning feels intentional. Through thoughtful questioning and discussion, she challenges students to move beyond surface-level answers and think more deeply. Her lessons are well-designed, connected, and always centered on meaningful learning.

Just as important, her classroom culture stands out. The calm, positive environment she creates allows students to feel comfortable collaborating, sharing ideas, and learning from one another. Walk into her room at any time, and you’ll see students actively engaged and working together.

Math Tutoring

We’re excited to offer additional support for our students! Our math teachers are available to stay after school from 2:30 to 3:30 every Tuesday and Thursday. They will assist with all math courses. If students need extra time beyond these hours, we will work with them to ensure they get the help they need.
