During lunch shifts tomorrow, we will be selling basketball tickets for the Liberty Magnet High vs Madison Prep Basketball game. Tickets are $5 and quantities are limited.
Dress Code Policy Reminders:
To ensure a safe and appropriate learning environment, please note the following are not permitted on campus:

Important Home Basketball Game Day Policy:
Seating Restrictions:
Standing in aisles or walkways is not permitted.
Baseline Restrictions:
No spectators may stand along the baseline at any time during the games.
Seating Arrangement:
The first row of bleachers on the side opposite the team benches will be closed.
All spectators must sit starting in the second row to ensure the safety of our student-athletes.
No Blankets are allowed on campus!

This national recognition honors our continued commitment to academic excellence, innovative STEM programming, and intentional work to support student achievement, diversity, and strong family and community partnerships. Earning this distinction two years in a row speaks to the consistency, dedication, and collective effort of our students, teachers, staff, families, and community partners.
Mr. Watson will accept the Magnet School of Excellence Award on behalf of Liberty Magnet High School during the Magnet Schools of America National Conference this April in San Diego. We are incredibly proud to represent our school, our district, and our community on a national stage!

Final Exam Exemption Policy
Final Exam Exemption Policy
This is a reminder that students may become eligible for Final Exam Exemptions during the Spring Semester. Students who earn an exemption are excused from attending on exam days, and the only way a student may earn an exemption is through the schoolwide exemption policy. Juniors and seniors will take the ACT on Tuesday, March 17, while freshmen and sophomores will take the PreACT on Wednesday, March 18. WorkKeys testing will be offered on February 27, and April 1, and participating in WorkKeys testing is also a great way for students to work toward earning an exam exemption.

Our students were locked in and working hard 💪📐
They focused on using perpendicular, angle, and triangle bisectors to solve problems and finding points of concurrency for the medians and altitudes of triangles. Students also worked on graphing and transforming radical functions, making strong connections between algebraic changes and visual representations.

Seven of our amazing Patriots represented Liberty Magnet High School at the EBR All Parish Honor Band this weekend!
On Saturday they rehearsed and performed alongside talented high school musicians from across the parish, culminating in an incredible concert at Scotlandville High School.
We are so proud of our students’ hard work and dedication and a huge shoutout to Mr. Gregory for preparing them to shine!

Liberty Magnet High School has been selected to represent East Baton Rouge Parish at the 2026 Magnet Schools of America Conference in San Diego this April!
This honor was earned by our Cybersecurity Cadets whose Magnet Shark Tank pitch, CTRL+ALT+ESCAPE, impressed judges with its innovative, student-designed approach to cybersecurity education. The project was developed by Kaylee Martin, Kenny Nguyen, Ta’Kira Nunnery, Ivory Brown, and Fernando Ruff, and is designed to help educators teach real-world cybersecurity concepts through engaging, classroom-ready experiences.
The lesson focuses on Digital Citizenship, Artificial Intelligence Ethics, Scam Awareness, and Introductory Cryptography while promoting leadership development, career readiness, and authentic student ownership of learning.
We are incredibly proud of these students for representing Liberty as well as our district on a national platform!

This week, we are proud to recognize Coach Valencia Wilson—a coach, mentor, and educator whose dedication and selflessness make a lasting impact on our students.
Coach Wilson’s leadership extends far beyond athletics. She instills teamwork, resilience, integrity, and sportsmanship to prepare students for success both on and off the court. Just last week, she led The Lady Patriots basketball team as they competed in the She Got Game Classic in Philadelphia, representing Liberty with pride on a national stage.

Please join us in congratulating Kathleen Ullrich, who was recognized today at the Louisiana Board of Elementary and Secondary Education meeting as a Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST) finalist for Louisiana.
Ms. Ullrich was the only educator nominated from East Baton Rouge Parish School System this year and is the first computer science teacher in Louisiana to reach finalist status for this prestigious national honor.
The PAEMST is the nation’s highest recognition for K–12 STEM educators.
Congratulations, Mrs. Ullrich, on this well-deserved recognition!

Math Tutoring
We’re excited to offer additional support for our students! Our math teachers are available to stay after school from 2:30 to 3:30 every Tuesday and Thursday. They will assist with all math courses. If students need extra time beyond these hours, we will work with them to ensure they get the help they need.

Patriots, we need your help! Dress code and cellphone use have become major concerns, and it’s important that we all work together to keep our campus safe, respectful, and focused.
Please take a moment to review the policies on page 14 of the Student Handbook (linked above). These guidelines are essential, especially when it comes to footwear, which is a significant safety issue.

Liberty continues to offer one of the most flexible free-dress codes in the city, but that only works when everyone follows the expectations in place.

We also need your support in ensuring students follow the rules regarding device usage. These policies help minimize distractions and maintain a positive learning environment for everyone.

A tardy is recorded any time a student is not in class by its official start time (at the start of school and during regular class changes). Late arrivals to school by student drivers or carpool do count into a student's tardy record. Student tardies accumulate throughout the full semester and consequences begin after the 3rd tardy.

Carpool starts at 6:40! Parents are not allowed to drop off before this. Wait for Mr. Shoff to start releasing for Carpool. Also, parents are not allowed to go down the lane that is reserved for student parking as indicated by the green arrows. That lane is reserved for students so they can drive into the student parking lot to park. Also, going up Pickett to try to get into the parking lot is NOT allowed at any time.

At the end of the school day during carpool, we've noticed some parents parking on the grass along LEE Drive and having their children walk to their cars. This practice is not only against school policy but also poses significant safety risks. For the safety of all students and to ensure smooth traffic flow, please refrain from parking on the grass and use the designated carpool lanes. Your cooperation is crucial in keeping our school environment safe for everyone.

Parents cannot email or call the office after dropping the student off late to school
Students will wait in TOR until a parent comes to sign them in.
Student drivers who arrive late may have a parent email the office. Student driver must have an approved parking contract on file.
Student drivers will have driving privileges suspended upon their 3rd late arrival in the semester.
