Every year, the St. Luke’s hospital holds a race for ages three all the way up to fourteen.
At the St. Luke’s Youth Run, participants are separated into age groups and each age group runs a certain distance. Every kid gets a participation metal, a bottle of water, a snack, and a surprise gift.
The schools with the top three numbers of participants are awarded money by St. Luke’s. I ran for Jefferson Elementary last year, and we won third place, getting $250! First place gets $75O, and second gets $500. On Saturday, April 25, 2026, the next St. Luke’s run will be held. Runners, you can sign up now if you are interested. Participating is completely free. Let’s get $750 to support LMMS!
Below is how far each age group runs:
• 3 to 4 years – 1/8 mile
• 5 to 6 years – 1/4 mile
• 7 to 8 years – 1/2 mile
• 9 to 14 years – 1 mile
