Over the past 5 seasons, the Philadelphia Flyers accumulated a track record of bad results. They had 179 losses not counting the 2025-2026 season. One of the big losses for the Flyers was a 9–3 defeat to the Montreal Canadiens on April 9, 2024. They also lost to the San Jose Sharks 2-1 which is not a bad loss in itself, but it was very embarrassing to lose against a very bad Sharks team who was winless. The worst loss for the Flyers happened on March 17, 2021 against New York Rangers. They lost that match 9-0. Due to the poor results in the 24-25 season, Flyers have less than 1% chance of winning the 2025-2026 Stanley Cup.
Regardless of the bad results, Flyers had a very good 2019-20 season in which they had most of their biggest wins and achievements. They had a season-opening shutout against New Jersey Devils 4-0 after a disappointing season a year before, it gave fans hope of a stronger team. That same year they won against their rival New York Rangers. Their biggest achievement happened when they beat the Montreal Canadiens in the 1st round of playoffs making it their first playoff victory in eight years. Not many good results after that.
Many fans do not believe that Flyers have what it takes to win the 2025-26 Stanley Cup. The team is in its rebuilding phase. They are focused on developing young talented players and improving through the draft. Fans believe in the team's potential. They are patiently waiting and are positive about the future of the team.
