Seventh-grade Technology Education at East Aurora Middle School takes things to the next level, building upon the foundational skills learned in 6th grade Tech. Students deepen their expertise in 3D modeling and design, applying their knowledge to create intricate projects for both 3D printers and laser engravers. They also delve deeper into coding, learning to write more complex programs and algorithms to control their robotic creations and solve challenges. Robotics challenges become more complex, with a greater emphasis on programming logic and problem-solving strategies. Design thinking takes center stage as students engage in projects that challenge them to prototype creative solutions to real-world problems. Furthermore, students begin to bridge the gap between traditional craftsmanship and modern technology by integrating woodworking techniques into their projects. This exciting blend of old and new skills empowers students to become innovative creators and resourceful problem-solvers.
