Focus:
Understanding basic units of measurement (metric and imperial).
6th graders are expected to be able to read a ruler up to 1/4" readings.
Learning to use rulers, measuring tapes, and other simple tools.
Applying measurement to basic activities and projects.
Expectations:
Accurately measure lengths, widths, and heights using appropriate tools.
Convert between units (e.g., inches to centimeters).
Understand the importance of precision in measurements.

Instructions:
Use the link above to practice your measurement skills. 6th graders are expected to be able to read a ruler up to 1/4" readings.
Be sure to adjust the settings to 1/4".
Use this game to learn and improve how you read a standard English ruler (also called an inch ruler, customary ruler, or imperial ruler).
This game can be played using a mouse or a touchscreen.

In this graded activity students will use a ruler or tape measure to complete the tasks below. Be sure to measure accurately to the nearest 1/4 inch and show your work where needed. Include units! I will have handouts for you in the classroom!
