Projector Solutions

This list of different solutions will be recommended to fix projector issues in our district's classrooms. IDEA Team technicians will troubleshoot each projector issue and propose a verified solution from the list. Drop and swap and full projector replacements will be recommended as a last resort and by nature of the solution cannot be verified in advance.

The low and mid-cost solutions require campuses to transfer funds to the IDEA Team via purchase requisition so that an in-stock solution can be delivered and installed. This allows us to resolve your issues more expediently than needing to order parts for each individual issue.

Solution A - Wired HDMI to VGA Converter (Projector-Installed)

This low-cost solution resolves the issue of a fouled HDMI port on a projector. HDMI ports are commonly fouled through abuse, often unintentional, of the connections on the back of the projector.

Solution B - Wired HDMI to VGA Computer (Computer-Installed)

This low-cost solution resolves the issue of a fouled HDMI cable between the wall and the projector. HDMI cables are commonly fouled through abuse, often unintentional, of the connections at either end of the cable.

Solution C - USB-C HDMI Adapter

This low-cost solution resolves the issue of a HDMI sync issue between the laptop and projector.

Solution D - Wireless HDMI Display Adapter

This mid-cost solution resolves the issue of failed cabling between the projector and the teacher work area within the classroom. The cause for failure can range widely, but common issues are related to age and pests. There are two types of wireless display adapters that work with district projectors depending on the model and we will provide the one that works with the projectors on your campus.

Solution E - Wireless HDMI Display Adapter w/ Additional Adapters

This mid-cost solution resolves the issue of failed cabling between the projector and the teacher work area within the classroom. The cause for failure can range widely, but common issues are related to age and pests. There are two types of wireless display adapters that work with district projectors depending on the model and we will provide the one that works with the projectors on your campus.

Solution F - Projector Only Replacement (Drop & Swap)

This high-cost option is offered as a solution for when lower cost options are not available but the cabling and mounts in the classroom are still serviceable. This solution involves removing the old projector and installing a new projector without replacing mounts or cabling. We recommend this solution when a projector has failed circuitry or other broken components that render the projector unusable.

This solution is coordinated in conjunction with an outside contractor and managed by the IDEA Team/Department of Technology.

The price for this solution ranges from $700 to $2000 depending on the type of projector that needs to be replaced and could take 4-6 weeks to be installed.

Solution G - Full Projector Replacement

This high-cost option is a last resort solution for when lower cost options are not available. This solution involves removing the old projector, mounts, and wiring and replacing with all new equipment. We recommend this solution when a projector has experienced failed circuitry or other broken components that render the projector and associated cabling unusable.

This solution is coordinated in conjunction with an outside contractor and managed by the IDEA Team/Department of Technology.

The price for this solution ranges from $1800 to $2600 depending on the type of projector that needs to be replaced and could take 4-6 weeks to be installed.

Solution H-P5 - Bulb Replacement for Boxlight P5

This mid-cost solution resolves the issue of a failed projector bulb/lamp. The cause for failure is part of the life cycle of a projector and the average bulb life is 3000 hours.

This mid-cost solution resolves the issue of a failed projector bulb/lamp. The cause for failure is part of the life cycle of a projector and the average bulb life is 3000 hours.
