End of Year 2023-24
These students will leave their devices in the carts on campus. Campuses will need to select a central storage location for all campus carts and report the location to Technology via the form linked below. We recommend utilizing the campus library as the summer cart storage location.
Technology will automatically check these devices in and prepare them for Fall 2024 redistribution. Technicians will complete device audits to satisfy state inventory controls and verify operational status during the summer. Inoperable devices will be repaired or replaced.
Students exiting intermediate and moving to middle school will be issued a device during Beginning of Year (BOY) processes.
Students completing 7th through 11th grades (+ 6th STEAM Academy Students) that intend to return to Duncanville ISD in Fall 2024 should keep their checked out devices over the summer. If these students experience an issue with their device over the summer, they may contact ideateam@duncanvilleisd.org or visit the IDEA Hub during business hours.
The IDEA Hub is located at 900 S. Cedar Ridge Drive #100, Duncanville, TX 75137.
Summer Business Hours are Monday - Thursday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., closed Fridays.
Regular Business Hours are Monday - Thursday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., and Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
For students that purchased device insurance during the 2023-24 school year, the insurance expires July 31, 2024.
Students completing 7th through 11th grades (+ 6th STEAM Academy Students) that do not intend to return to Duncanville ISD in Fall 2024 should turn in their device according to the campus-developed return schedule (which should be completed by May 17).

Technology will break down computer labs in preparation of general summer cleaning performed by the custodial staff. Once the custodial work is completed, our team will return and reassemble the lab. If your campus would like to have a computer lab removed, please indicate on the form linked below.
Campuses will need to select a central storage location for all mobile device carts and report the location to Technology via the form linked below. We recommend utilizing the campus library as the summer cart storage location.
As in previous years, the Technology Department will conduct a campus technology clean-up.
Using the form linked below, campuses will indicate one designated pick-up location. Our team will deliver an empty gondola to this location during the week of May 15 to facilitate collection of junk items.
Deadline for collecting and gathering junk items is Friday, May 31, 2024. Be sure to monitor the items brought to be the designated location to ensure that they are truly “junk” items. Please remind staff not to take junk items out of the location to be placed back in classrooms.
Items categorized as “junk” include, but are not limited to: items broken beyond repair, outdated items, items with missing components needed for function and/or unusable items (including old live announcement streaming equipment and overheads).
Technicians will begin reviewing designated locations beginning Monday, June 3, 2024. All junk items must be placed in this location.
Please take personal items home, so that they are not accidentally taken to be salvaged (e.g., printers, boom boxes). Items accidentally included in the salvage process will not be replaced.
During the month of June, a contractor (escorted by our technicians) will begin picking up junk equipment to be salvaged.
If you have equipment that is still usable (in perfect working condition), but you would like to remove it from your campus, please enter a work order in Incident IQ to have the item(s) picked up. Use the Other Requests, Move/Remove Equipment ticket type.
Items purchased with campus funds will need to be reflected on campus level inventory documentation.
The link below should be completed by the campus principal or designee by the end-of-business of May 10, 2024.
