Subject: New Procedure for Requesting Online Tools / Apps
Dear Teachers,
As you may be aware, new Student Data Privacy laws took effect this past March. To ensure compliance and promote thoughtful use of instructional technology, we are implementing a new procedure for requesting online tools and Google Workspace apps.
Here’s what you need to know:
View this Slide Deck to learn more about the changes to Google Workspace
Check the Looker Studio SDPA List to first to see if a tool is already approved.
If not, discuss your request with your Curriculum Supervisor first.
The Curriculum Supervisor will determine if the tool supports a larger instructional purpose and aligns with our goals.
If appropriate, the Curriculum Supervisor will initiate the official request process.
Please do not use Google’s “Request Access” button or contact IT directly about app requests.
Requests must flow through Curriculum Supervisors to ensure proper privacy review.
We value your creativity and commitment to innovative teaching — this process helps us support that innovation while protecting student data.
Thank you for your partnership!

If not → the legal review may take several weeks depending on the vendor.
What apps can I use freely?
Anything already listed in the approved SDPA list.
District-provided core tools (Google Workspace, approved LMS platforms, etc.)
Who should I contact with questions?
Your Curriculum Supervisor is your first point of contact.
