About Me:
I grew up in Kansas and went to the best university - Kansas State University. While I was there I earned my B.S. in Business Marketing (GO WILDCATS). After graduation I worked sales. I loved the challenges of the business world, but decided to stay home when I had my first daughter. When my kids entered elementary school, I began to substitute teach. I loved being around the students and wanted to make more of an impact in their lives. In 2005 I started alternative certification.
I started teaching at WSES in 2006. I taught 4th grade 2006 to 2013. Then I moved to 5th grade 2013 to 2017. In 2018, I accepted the challenge of opening a school. I taught 6th grade science at Sycamore Springs Middle School. Just to keep me on my toes, I decided to return to Walnut Springs Elementary School and help students as an interventionist.
I believe:
That every student can learn.
It is my job to find out what motivates and drives a student.
I need to utilize that information to make their learning fun and enjoyable for them.
I want to foster a love of learning that lasts a lifetime.
“You don’t become what you want, you become what you believe.”
