For my final in geometry, we've created a stained glass product, that has different shapes, and we had to prove that those shapes really were perfect using shape proofs. The inspiration for my design is a flower, and a natural background. The 3 elements of art that we had are line, color, and shape, and the principles of design that we had are balance, unity, and pattern. Since we incorporated shapes into our project, we had to prove what they are with angles, sides, and overall measurements. For example, with the parallelogram we had to make sue that the opposite sides and angles were congruent, and all of the sides were parallel.
In this IXL, we looked at the lengths of tangent lines.
In this IXL, we looked at pythagorean theorem, and how we can find distances between two points ona coordinate plane.
In this IXL, we looked more at ow reflections and different transformations affect shapes.
In this project, we picked a building that we used a lot, and reviewed it, going thrgh the building, and making different dimensions and floor plans for that building. After learning more about different ways to calculate volume and area, we redesigned our building in a 3d model in TinkerCad. Using all of the things we learned, we calculated the volume and area of our new building, along with new cross sections and floor plans, including measurements, and presented them to our class
