Understanding Good Touch and Bad Touch
Grade II
A session on "Good Touch and Bad Touch" was conducted for Grade II on 13th October 2023. The objective of this workshop was to educate the students about recognizing and understanding the difference between good touches and bad touches, ensuring students’ safety and well-being.
The workshop began with an interactive discussion where students were encouraged to share their thoughts and feelings about various kinds of touches.
The concept of a good touch was explained as a touch that makes one feel safe, happy, and comfortable. Examples, such as hugs from family members and holding hands with friends, were given to illustrate good touches.
The idea of a bad touch was introduced as a touch that makes one feel uncomfortable, scared, or upset. Students were made aware of their "private parts" (areas covered by a swimsuit) and were taught that no one should touch them in these areas without a valid reason.
What to Do:
a. The students were educated on the three important steps to take if they experience a bad touch: a. Say NO - They were encouraged to say "NO" firmly if they ever felt uncomfortable.
b. Run and Tell - Students were advised to run away from the person who touched them inappropriately and immediately inform a trusted adult, such as their parents, teacher, or school counsellor.
c. Trust Their Feelings - It was emphasized that they should always trust their feelings, and if something doesn't feel right, they should seek help.
The importance of identifying trusted adults in their lives was highlighted. Students were encouraged to share their concerns with these adults and seek their support whenever needed.
The Session concluded with a reminder that their bodies belong to them, and it's essential to protect themselves. They were reminded that their safety is a top priority, and they should never hesitate to talk to their parents or trusted adults if they have any questions or concerns.

The Name's Bond! Covalent Bond!
Grade X
To teach the concept of sharing electrons to form a Covalent Bond, the Principal, Ms Anupama Sagdeo used the Role-Play method. Students were made atoms of a few elements, and they were asked to share electrons with other atoms to form covalent bonds to make molecules. The students made molecules of Hydrogen, Oxygen, Nitrogen, Carbon dioxide and Methane.
The students also understood the concept of Single, Double and Triple Bonds. It was a fun learning session.
