A Passion Project is a trendy name for doing something that excites and inspires you. Devoting a portion of work time to exploring passions is not a new concept. Passion Projects can bring new friendships to students who find they have like interests. It brings classrooms together by encouraging each other to pursue their passions. Students also find new passions through the work of their peers, doing the things they love and that bring them joy.
As a part of the mid-term evaluation, students were asked to present a Passion Project for each subject - English, Math, EVS, and Hindi. The students presented beautiful projects - some composed a poem or wrote a short story, others made colourful charts and posters and presented them confidently in the class.
The following were given as the topics and activities for the Passion Projects.
English – Rhyming words – students were supposed to compose a poem or write a short story using rhyming words.
Math – Handling Data – students had to collect data on their kitchen utensils and cutlery like glasses, plates, forks, knives, spoons, and coffee mugs and present it.
EVS – My family – students had to introduce their family with the help of a family tree or poster.
Hindi – students composed poems or wrote stories using आ, इ and ई के मात्राओं के words and highlighted the मात्रा words using the given colour code.
The children enjoyed these presentations and everyone participated.
The Grade II students were asked to record the weather for five days and note down whether it is windy, rainy or sunny and present the report as a reporter in the classroom. The students incorporated technology by using digital tools like Padlet, Google slides, Jamboard, kahoot. They were excited about their own digital creations and happily helped their classmates who needed assistance .........all with smiles, laughter, and joy.
This activity was conducted to sensitize children about pet animals. In this activity, they wrote beautiful poems, creative stories, and made colourful collages of their favourite pet animals. They were happy and excited to share their project
The teacher covered the topic of Handling Data with this project. Children were asked to make a list of clothes and accessories in their wardrobe. They presented the project in the form of a chart with miniatures of the materials, few made a table, and some made wardrobes. Children learnt to segregate the objects.
Historical monuments are an integral part of Indian history. To create interest in the children about our history we conducted this project. In this project children made beautiful posters, they also created slides with the information and they dressed as per the theme and expressed their view about the monument. Children were eager to share their work.
Grade III began the journey with students writing their ideas on paper. Then, students were given one week to come up with proposals for their projects. The students of Grade III incorporated technology by using digital tools like Padlet, Google slides, Jamboard, kahoot. Students made beautiful slides and presented the topic in the online classes. Students showcased their work in front of their teachers and classmates.
Learning became a joyful experience, the fun that they shared with their classmates was the icing on the cake.

इस गतिविधि का उद्देश्य बच्चों के सुप्त गुणों का विकास कर उनकी इच्छानुसार गतिविधि प्रस्तुत करने को प्रोत्साहित करना था ताकि वे खुलकर, बिना किसी बंधन के अपनी रूचि को प्रस्तुत कर सके |
Making of Ganeshji with colourful paper cut-outs / drawings by using Basic geometrical shapes, Patterns or Tessellations.
Students of class 3, presented their creativity by using various shape cut-outs and drawing Ganeshji. Some students wrote some information about Ganeshji. Everyone used different coloured paper cut-outs of various shapes and sizes to make Lord Ganesha. They used various patterns or tiling patterns.
In this way students learnt about shapes, patterns, and tessellations. This project integrated arts and mathematics in children.

Passion Projects: Students Have a Voice - and a Choice
A Passion Project is an activity that encourages creativity in the students and promotes inquiry, perseverance, problem-solving, and innovation, among other lifelong skills.
The students of Grade III were asked to collect information about the different games and share their knowledge through their passion. Students got choice to present the topic in their own way of interest. Some shared about traditional games through digital presentations, some students made posters and collage based on games, some students recited a poem on the benefits of playing games, while some made equipment used in games using clay.

Making a Frame by using Patterns or Tessellations of colourful paper cut-outs / drawings.
.Students of class 4, have shown their creativity in drawing Ganeshji with Basic geometrical Shapes. They also Made Frame with different Patterns or tessellations by using coloured paper cut outs. Some students sent songs, poems, shlokas, and also some information about Ganeshji. Students explained about the Mathematical concept of corners, sides, and other information on shapes. Everyone used different shapes and displayed their creativity by using colourful cut-outs of various patterns and tessellations. In this way, through the “Learning by doing” Method students learnt about shapes, patterns, and tessellations.
This project integrated arts and mathematics under the guidance of Ms. Suvarna Kale, the Mathematics teacher.

A Passion Project taps into the student's talents—the things they love and that brings them joy. After the topic Animal, in Grade IVth EVS, the students were asked to study about the human- animal relationship and share their knowledge in the way they like to do. The students shared beautiful posters, digital presentations, dance , poetry, craft, etc on the given topic.
