Research shows that taking sometime each day to practice mindfulness helps children prepare themselves for learning. One of the most challenging things for children to do is to bring themselves to a state of calm. Mindfulness will help them self regulate and bring themselves into a calm state for learning.
Consistent mindfulness practices can reduce the amygdala, the part of the brain associated with negative emotions, and develop the pre frontal cortex, which supports higher order brain functions. Studies show that mindfulness can strengthen connections in the brain related to attention and concentration. Mindfulness helps children become more comfortable and confident with themselves and decreases anxiety around academics.
This strategy, of bringing mindfulness into the classroom, is based on the science of learning and development. Educators and parents can use it to help children reach their full potential.

I read the book – The Invisible String. It taught me that Everyone has an invisible string, and it can reach anywhere, even heaven. The book's message is that no one is ever alone, even when their loved one is not physically present.

Today I was tense when all my teachers told me about SLC, I was worried if I could do it properly or not. I was really tensed as some of my work wasn't completed yet! But, I calmed my self down by meditation after class. That calmed me down.
