The morning assembly helps us cultivate a sense of belonging towards the school. It is an exercise in self discipline and we learn to respect and appreciate what others have done for us. It is a channel to share information related to school life such as the club activities and extracurricular activities.
The students and the parents of DPS Lava joined the first morning assembly of the new session 2020 -2021 on Wednesday, the 3rd of June, at 9:00 am sharp. The Assembly was streamed live and all the students, from Nursery to Grade IX, were a part of it.
Students have the morning assembly every Wednesday. The morning assembly is a collaborative effort of the Tech Team and the teachers. Students also come together to celebrate special days and events.

On 8th October 2020; India celebrated the 88th Indian Air Force Day. The Indian Air Force also called “Bhartiya Vayu Sena” is the air wing of the Indian Armed Forces. IAF was officially established on 8th October 1932. The President of India holds the rank of Supreme Commander of the air force. The Chief of Air Staff, an air chief marshal is responsible for the operational command of the air force. The Motto of the Indian Air Force is ‘Touch the Sky with Glory’ and it is taken from the eleventh chapter of the Bhagavad Gita.
With around 1500 aircraft and 1,70,000 personnel, IAF is the fourth largest air force in the world after the United States, Russia, and China. Air Force Day is celebrated with zeal and pride at various Air Force stations all over India. Air Force Stations in the states conduct parades at their respective bases. The air displays are mesmerizing. The Rafale fighter jet was all set to mark its first appearance on that day.Students of Wisdom House presented the News, Thought for the Day and shared the significance of the 88th Air Force Day.

Courage House of DPS Lava conducted the morning assembly on World Standard day on 14th October.2020. World Standard Day is celebrated internationally each year on 14th October by the members of the IEC, ISO and ITU, to honour the efforts of the thousands of experts who develop voluntary standards within standards development organizations.
It is a means of paying tribute to the collaborative efforts of thousands of experts worldwide who develop the voluntary technical agreements that are published as International Standards.
This year World Standard Day 2020 was themed on “Protecting the planets with standards”. The aim of this day is to raise awareness among regulators, industry and consumers as to the importance of standardization to the Global economy.
Students of Courage House presented the News, Thought for the Day and shared the significance of World Standard Day.
Ms. Yamini Pawar delivered the Teacher's Talk.

Harmony House conducted the morning assembly on 21st October, 2020. As the upcoming festival was Dussehra, children had the opportunity to enlighten others with the true message of Dussehra.
Dussehra is also known as Vijaya Dashami , a festival celebrated at the end of Navaratri every year. Vijaya Dashami celebrates the victory of good over evil and is celebrated differently in various parts of the Indian subcontinent.
In the Southern, Eastern and North Eastern states of India, it marks the end of Durga Puja, remembering goddess Durga's victory over the demon Mahishasura.In the Northern, Central and Western states of India the festival is called Dusshera.
In these regions it marks the end of Ramlila, God Ram's victory over Ravan.
Vijaya Dashami celebrations include processions carrying clay statues of goddess Durga. Elsewhere on Dussehra towering effigies of Ravan symbolizing evil are burnt with fireworks marking evil's destruction.This festival also starts the preparation for Diwali, which is celebrated 20 days after Vijaya Dashami.Students of Harmony House presented the News, Thought for the Day and shared the significance of the two festivals .Ms. Sharon Anthony delivered the Teacher's Talk.

Service House presented the weekly assembly on 28th October for National Unity Day or Rashtriya Ekta Diwas. This day is celebrated in memory of the ‘Iron Man of India’- Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
31st October is his birth anniversary and India celebrates it as 'Youth Day' to honor his contributions towards building a united nation -India. Information about Sardar Patel and events undertaken, to mark this day was shared in the assembly by Anahita Banerjee .
