"Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember.
Involve me and I learn." - Benjamin Franklin
At DPS Lava students experience a unique way of learning - Project Based Learning.
One of the major advantages of PBL is that it makes school more like real life. It's an in-depth investigation of a real-world topic worthy of children's attention and effort.
In Grade KG II the children learned about seed germination through PBL and also tried to grow their own food .The children were amazed to see the roots and shoots coming out of the seed.
They also documented the growth of the plants and were able to tell why some plant grow fast and others take time .
The children learned to take responsibility of their plants and expressed their joy when they saw their plant flourish.
To culminate the project the children plucked the methi leaves grown by them and helped their mom make delicious delicacies with it.
Overall it was a great learning experience for the children.
Children usually drink milk early in the morning after they are out of their bed. Milk gives them calcium and strength for the bones. It gives instant energy to children and helps them in their daily activities.
Milk men are prompt in their services and deliver milk on time every morning .
The children of Nursery did a role play as part of Project Based Learning. They dressed up like a Milkman and activities were done by them.
This activity helped the children understand the importance of Milk as source of energy and the role played by Milk man as a community helper.
Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated in a unique way by KGII students. Some of them came dressed as Gandhi ji and delivered short, inspiring narratives from his life . The teacher also presented a cameo on Gandhi Ji's life that imparted the message that hearts can be won through non-violence and peace.

100 things to learn 100 things to play , 100 days smarter,
We have a 100 things to say...
We are delighted that our little ones have completed 100 days of learning in this new normal. We have traveled together and emerged stronger in these testing times.
This day was celebrated with great enthusiasm in the Pre-Primary wing of DPS Lava. Our little marvels showcased their talent during the virtual Fancy Dress Competition. The themes for the competition were -Corona Warriors and Favorite Fruit / Vegetable for Nursery, for KG I the theme was Corona Warriors and Gadgets and for KG II it was - Corona Warriors and Space.
The children were dressed in beautiful attire and spoke with confidence, Some also gave a message like ....'Never Give up and Believe in yourself ' and 'Be a Warrior' which was heart warming for the teachers and the judges.
Dussehra is also known as Vijayadashami . On this day Goddess Durga killed the demon, Mahishasura . Other traditions believe that Lord Rama fought and eliminated the Demon King Ravana on this very day. Thus, both events have the same outcome, victory of light over darkness, truth over deceit and good over evil.
The Pre Primary wing celebrated Dusshera with full enthusiasm. Children came dressed in traditional attire. Nursery and KGI decorated dandias and danced on garba tunes. KGII children enjoyed making Ravan and saw a short movie on Dussehra.
