Every student can learn, just not on the same day, or the same way.
-George Evans
After a presentation on Critical Thinking in one of the previous episodes of CC Fridays, Team DPS, Nashik came up with another important aspect of learning- Differentiated Learning. The 17th episode of CC Fridays was all about Differentiated Learning.
The team started with the explanation of how differentiation is not a curriculum. Instead, it is a way of thinking about teaching and learning. They shared how with the help of differentiated instructions, a normal classroom can be converted into a differentiated classroom. They also discussed the important questions that a differentiated classroom facilitator should remember.
They shared how they strategized differentiated learning by adapting the curriculum content, process and product based upon the readiness, interest and learning profile of the students. The team also threw light on the importance of flexible grouping and tiered assignments for successful implementation of differentiated instruction.
'I never teach my pupils. I only attempt to provide the conditions in which they can learn.' These wise words of Albert Einstein are definitely manifested in the differentiated learning initiative by team DPS, Nashik.
