APPROACH
Theoretical/project based
This course, created as a workshop-like laboratory, revolves around experimentation and practical know-how. Within a creative workshop that brings together research, strategy and creativity on real projects (in collaboration with companies and agencies), the students develop non-conventional solutions in order to create a professional portfolio.
Part of the course, in collaboration with the Career Services, will cover some aspects that relate to the professional practice (types of contract, intellectual property, CSR - corporate social responsibility).
Overall, this course aims for the students to develop a knowledgeable approach to design, that also considers ethical issues (sustainability, company relations, community development, as well as support to arts and culture).
The programme consists of one single module, which grants 6 credits.
Successful students will be able to:
Explain what kind of businesses are part of the Italian and international scenario
Talk about the various work agreements and contracts in Italy
Identify the most suitable way to enter the professional world, according to individual ambitions
Apply consistent fees for the most common professional services/products on the reference market
Account for all the items that make up a gross income, and approximately estimate net revenues
Apply the right norms for the safeguarding of the author’s rights and use of copyrighted material
Select tenders, startup accelerators, funding or other tools that can facilitate the access to the professional market, consistently with the individual needs
Businesses: types and running
Work: types, contracts, professions
Accounting: tax authorities, welfare, taxes and revenues
Standards and procedures of the professional activity within the industry
Analysis of market and reference industry
Strategies to enter the professional world
Startups, tenders, incubators and financing
This is a theoretical/project based course.
Students will take part in the following activities, which may vary depending on the development of different projects:
Classroom lectures
Use of tutorials, videos or other media tools
Exercises and revisions

Individual or group study and research
Assessment tools may include:
Final project (access plan to the professional market) and oral exam
