Theoretical/project based
This course explores the cultural and professional scenario that is connected to the use of multimedia technologies and author productions. Analysis of the variety of art objects, products and services, their relevance and aesthetics that is strictly linked to the digital world. Case study of multimedia works: technological (software and multimedia production interfaces, reproduction tools) and applicative elements (immersive installations).
The programme consists of one single module, which grants 4 credits.
Successful students will be able to:
Explain and analyse art objects connected to multimedia experimentation
Devise original artistic-intramedia concepts (group project)
Introduction to the cultural and expressive scenario connected with the use of multimedia technologies
Analysis of multimedia work production, types and peculiarities: technological aspects - how technological innovation influences the future of artistic production: new software from 3D to video editing, innovation in interface design, new uses for motion graphics, content mashup (hypertext, multimedia, interaction, augmented & virtual reality). Applicative techniques - interactivity, multimedia platforms (both apps and web), immersive installations (internet of things, interactive exhibition design, video mapping)
This is a theoretical/project based course.
Students will take part in the following activities, which may vary depending on the development of different projects:
Classroom lectures
Use of tutorials, videos or other media tools
Exercises and revisions
Workshops
Individual or group projects
Individual or group study and research
Assessment tools may include:
Mid-term written exam
Completion of comprehensive projects
