APPROACH
Theoretical/project based
Students on this programme are expected to acquire the main 3D modelling functionalities for Industrial Design and Interior Design projects, as well as basic understanding of digital and graphic communication tools for project communication. Visual communication includes the creation of a personal portfolio.
The programme grants 10 credits, divided as follows:
RHINO: 4 CFA
GRAPHIC AND DIGITAL COMMUNICATION: 6 CFA
Successful students will be able to:
RHINO:
Master the main 3D modelling functionalities in Rhinoceros, a widely diffused software for Industrial Design and Interior design
Manage solid modelling with deformation and surface modelling tools to create organic shapes
Master design and project presentation tools with the creation of illustrations for print and renderings
GRAPHIC AND DIGITAL COMMUNICATION:
Understand basic visual and digital communication
Understand graphics and web analysis skills
Use design and interior design project presentation tools in a digital environment
RHINO:
The interface
Basic controls
Personalization of the 2D and 3D modelling environment
Solids - construction and manipulation tools
Surfaces - construction and manipulation tools
Rendering: materials, texture, lighting
GRAPHIC AND DIGITAL COMMUNICATION:
Introduction to graphic and digital communication
Digital tools and software
Basic understanding of websites and blogs development
Basic understanding of graphic layouts
Visual representation techniques
Product design and Interior design tools for project promotion
Creation of a personal portfolio
This is a theoretical/project based course.
Students will take part in the following activities, which may vary depending on the development of different projects:
Classroom lectures
Use of tutorials, videos or other media tools
Exercises and revisions
Workshops
Individual or group projects
Individual or group study and research
Assessment tools may include:
RHINO:
Completion of comprehensive projects
Submission of exercises, projects or research works
GRAPHIC AND DIGITAL COMMUNICATION:
Completion of comprehensive projects
