This strongly workshop-oriented course aims at providing students with the basic skills of digital image editing and layout methods. Through extensive practice and tutoring on the most common digital graphics software programmes, students will become familiar with basic digital image editing techniques, compositing, creation and management of vector images. They will also experiment with basic typography and page layout methods. By the end of the programme, successful students will possess the necessary skills to deal with the technical side of increasingly complex projects.
The programme consists of one single module, which grants 4 CFA credits.
By the end of the programme, successful students will be able to:
Explain the difference between different formats of digital images
Talk about the technical features of digital images
Use a computer to draw and to create specific graphic elements
Improve photographs and images with the use of photo retouching software
Use tools such as stamps, brushes and masks to carry out simple digital compositing jobs
Manage a page and its elements (text, images, graphic elements)
Prepare executive files that meet the industry standards
