Korean language is a subject requires students enthusiasm in Korean culture, K-pop and Korean drama and which needs a very high commitment and motivation to revise and study in and after the lessons. Students need to have good memories to remember all the Korean syllables to build a good foundation in learning basic vocabularies and forming sentences.

韓文是一門需要學生對韓國文化、K-pop 和韓劇充滿熱情的科目，需要非常高的投入和動力在課堂內和課後進行複習和學習。 學生需要有良好的記憶力來記住所有韓語音節，為學習基本詞彙和造句打下良好的基礎。

Qualifications & Recognition that could be achieved:

  • TOPIK is an international recognized test for proficiency in Korean, there are two tests for TOPIK, TOPIK I for Grade 1 and 2 and TOPIK II for Grade 3 and 6.


  • Students who take the Korean language course in our school is expected to sit for TOPKI 1 (achieving a score of 80-140 or above 140), provided that they only learn Korean for 1 year.


Program Duration

1 year (students need to study other Applied Learning subject in S5 and S6)


Selection Criteria

• Non-Korean speaker

• Students who are interested in Korean culture, K-pop, Korean drama who want to learn Korean

• No prior knowledge is required


Assessment Method

  • Daily Assessment: Dictation, quizzes and test

  • Examination: Reading*, Listening*, Writing , Speaking (Daily conversation)

*Appear in TOPIK, students need to be very capable of.
