Celebrating The Chong Yang Festival in Appreciation of Our Elders
2025年重阳茶话会
敬老爱老庆重阳 情真意切合家欢
Tea Reception Program
(This event will be conducted in Mandarin.)
【Event Description】
It is that time of the year again when we celebrate “The Chong Yang – Double Ninth Festival”. In the ancient Chinese traditions, the number nine belongs to the “Yang” element. And double nine in Mandarin sounds identical to the Chinese characters “Jiu Jiu”, which means longevity and long lasting. On the ninth day of the ninth month of the lunar calendar, when both the day and month coincides to be the same number, it is the day of double nine, hence the name “Chong Yang”. In modern times, it has evolved to become the "Chong Yang or Double Ninth Festival". A festive day for us to express gratitude, respect and love towards our elders.
The event is hosted by Zhong Hua Cultural Society (Singapore), co-organized by Kebun Baru Community Club, and sponsored by Sheng Siong Group Ltd. We sincerely invite you to participate with your family, young and old alike, as we celebrate this meaningful festival filled with warmth and lasting, fond memories together!
