Ongoing professional development supports effective teacher use of technology through the use of instructional technology coaches, teams of teacher leaders, or other systems of support.
All teachers (46/46) completed the TTS 1 in a timely manner after completing Learning Experience #1. CSK achieved over 100% because the principal completed the survey also. Having teachers self-reflect on their technology use and knowledge increases their capacity to integrated more technology into daily classroom use.
After careful review of the Technology Integration Matrix Observations(TIM-O), it is clear that CSK is headed in the right direction as it pertains to incorporating technology in the classroom. The 4 core content areas are the strongest when it comes to entry, adoption and adaptation. Upon analyzing the data, it is room for improvement in all classrooms. The areas for most growth are technology infusion and transformation based off the VILS Coach observations on those particular days. This is not to say infusion and transformation technology use is not happening, it was not observed at that time. The TIM-O data has shaped how support for teachers will look different for second semester to increase infusion and transformation, especially in the areas of collaboration and response construction.
During pre-planning, the VILS Coach conducted whole staff training on various tech tools. Once the school year started, the VILS Coach presents in content PLC's twice a month to connect teachers with various strategies and how to implement suggested resources based on content. The VILS Coach and content instructional coaches work closely to ensure technology resources are appropriate and most beneficial for each content.
The VILS Coach is available in a plethora of ways. He created Technology Tuesday's, where he delivers a "Suttle Tech Tip" from his school-based youtube account. The youtube account is home to all content he created for many functions at the school to ensure CSK has a current digital footprint.
The VILS Coach also has a Google Classroom where teachers have access to his coaching menu and a hub for all instructional material discussed in PLC's, Tuesday Tech Videos, or any tech based concern.
