At Harvest, students who pick 6th Grade General Music will be learning the characteristics of music specifically from their world. Students will also gain a further understanding of how music works including how to build harmonies, compose their own pieces, and how instruments function. Using this knowledge, students will create their own music and instruments. This all culminates in an examination of careers in music. We discuss how this knowledge is applied in the real world on a daily basis and students have the opportunity to research a musician of their choice! This class is for students who want to discover more about the music around them, how to interact with it and how to create it. This is a non-performance based class.
