In DASD, music classrooms strive to inspire our students to have a lifelong love of music, develop foundational skills for reading and making music, and experience the joy of making music together. Students will sing two concerts at the high school performing arts center. The winter concert will be more traditional choral literature and the spring concert will be popular/ soundtrack or musical literature.
Students will:
Learn how to sing in 2 parts
Be introduced to solfege as a tool
Sing rounds and partner songs
Sing in at least one foreign language
Continue learning how to read an octavo score
Listen and analyze other choral performances
Continue to work on singing in their head, chest and mixed voice
Work on diction and tall vowels
