4th Grade

4th Grade music meets every other day throughout the entire school year.

In DASD, music classrooms strive to inspire our students to have a lifelong love of music, develop foundational skills for reading and making music, and experience the joy of making music together. Students will do a four week rotation with the three general music teachers focusing on melody (singing/ choir), rhythm (drums/ band)  and harmony (ukulele/ general music). 

In Fourth Grade, students will learn:

• Complex Rhythms (Syncopation, Dotted Rhythms)

• Note Reading (Staff Reading)

• Forms, Styles, Genres

• General Music vs Band vs Choir

• Singing

• Ukulele

• Drumming
