The DeForest area middle school operates on a trimester model where students meet every day during that trimester.

Digital Music is a one trimester long course and meets every day.

Band and Choir are two trimesters long and meets every day.  1/2 of the students enrolled in band/choir will have class 1st trimester, and the other 1/2 will have it 2nd trimester. All students will combine for the third trimester of the year. During their "off" trimester, students will continue to get lessons but will not be expected to peform for the concert.
