A way to explore careers related to Animals and animal systems.
Animal Science is a two-semester course designed to prepare students for animal-related careers. In Wisconsin 1 out of every 10 jobs is in agriculture, many animal-related. This class is designed to help students explore and develop an understanding of animal production, physiology, and anatomy. Materials that will be covered in the first semester include reproduction, digestion, muscles, nutrition, lymphatic systems, genetics and more.
The second semester will cover management of animal species important to agriculture. It will include but not be limited to: judging/selection, feeding, care and disease control of dairy, beef, swine, poultry and equine.
