Welcome to Grade 7
Dear Parents/Guardians:
Grade 7 is a very important year in the academic life of your child. This is your child’s first year in the intermediate division, which means more independence is given, and more responsibility is expected of them.
The intermediate division teachers for your child are as follows:
G. Bagatto (Science, Mathematics, Language, Art, Health, Music, Phys. Ed., History, Geography)
J. Patel (French, Drama)
To minimize contact with other students and teachers in the school, students will not leave the classroom for the entirety of the day, with the only exception being recess, washroom breaks, and Phys. Ed.
Intermediate students will not be using agenda books this year. Students and parents can access agenda items by linking to my teacher page at the website given below.

Check my website frequently for classroom information, and make your child accountable for the assignments and homework listed therein. Students in the intermediate division are expected to complete homework when it is assigned. Students will have class time to work on assignments with teacher guidance; however, any work not completed during class should be done as homework. Assignments must be completed by due dates.
Each student in the intermediate division has been assigned a chrome book computer for their personal use in the classroom and at home. Instruction and assessment will often include a digital component. Have your child show you our Google Classroom. Because students will not be sharing classroom materials, students should have the following supplies: pens, pencils, pencil crayons, sharpener, coloured markers, erasers, ruler, calculator, pencil case, binder, dividers, and lined paper. Any student that does not have any of these items, will have them supplied by the school.
Students are expected to arrive prepared and on time for all classes. It is the responsibility of the student to make arrangements to catch up on work, or write tests that were missed because of absence. “I didn’t know” or “I was away” are not acceptable excuses for not completing homework or assignments. It is also expected that all students follow the routines of the classroom and the school. Respect, care, courtesy, and cooperation are expected, and all students should abide by the “Pringle Creek P.S. Code of Behaviour”.
I would like to end this information sheet with a few words about myself. I spent the early part of my career working as a research scientist, and the last nineteen years as an intermediate teacher. I look forward to using that experience in providing an interesting and sound foundation for your child’s education, especially in math and science. I hope that this information sheet has answered some of the questions and concerns that you may have. I feel strongly that parents are an important part of a child’s education and I invite you to phone or email me.
Sincerely, Giuseppe
