I have had the pleasure of teaching students at Pringle Creek Public School since 1997. Over the years there have been many changes to everything from the curriculum to the actual building itself. When I first arrived, there were about 15 portables with wooden boardwalks to each of them - it was a mini portable city! Since then, the portables have dwindled away, and an extension to the building was made. Teachers have come and gone; administrators have come and gone. The one element that has been constant is the student population. They are the driving force behind what I do as an educator. They shape the lessons I plan, the workshops I take, and provide the echo to my laughter as we find the fun in what we do from the day to day work.
I recharge myself each night with my family. To me, family is the backbone of society and there is nothing more important than the time we spend with them. My husband and I have raised 2 children. My son is 21 years old and my daughter is 15 years old. Occasionally I bump into Pringle Creek families (even past students who are in their 30's now!) while out shopping or at restaurants with my own family, and I get a kick out of it when they say hello. I am thoroughly enjoying this year so far, and I look forward to working with the students over the coming months.
I have been teaching in gifted self-contained classrooms since 2008 and I have a passion for teaching. In my classroom I encourage students to explore, create, and collaborate to enrich their educational experience. There is never a dull moment as we find new ways to investigate topics and delve deep into the Ontario Curriculum and beyond.
My name is Anthony Beauchamp and I have been given the opportunity to teach the grade 4/5 class at Pringle Creek this year. I have been with DDSB since 2012 mainly covering day to day supply positions with a few short LTO's along the way. Last January I was given the chance to teach at Pringle Creek, where I covered the Grade 7 class and intermediate Art until the end of May.
My teaching philosophy is all about respect:
We respect ourselves by:
-Coming prepared to learn
-Doing our best all the time
-Believing in our abilities and staying positive
We respect each other by:
-Listening when others are talking
-Believing in the supporting each other
-Helping each other
-Accepting difference
We respect the environment by:
-Keeping the classroom/school clean
-Taking care of our school and personal resources
