SPECIFIC:
Gr.5/6: read a variety of texts from diverse cultures, including literary texts
Gr. 5/6: identify a variety of purposes for reading and choose reading materials appropriate for those purposes
Gr. 5/6: identify a variety of reading comprehension strategies and use them appropriately before, during, and after
Writing: OVERALL
Generate, gather, and organize ideas and information to write for an intended purpose and audience
SPECIFIC:
Gr. 5/6: identify the topic, purpose, and audience for a variety of writing forms
Gr. 5/6: generate ideas about a potential topic and identify those most appropriate for the purpose
Math:
Grade 5: read, represent, compare, and order whole numbers to 100 000
Grade 6: read, represent, compare, and order whole numbers to 1 000 000
Science:
Grade 5: demonstrate an understanding of the structure and function of human body systems and interactions within and between systems
Grade 6: demonstrate an understanding of biodiversity, its contributions to the stability of natural systems, and its benefits to humans
Art:
Grade 5: apply the creative process to produce a variety of two -dimensional works of art, using elements, principles, and techniques of visual arts to communicate feelings, ideas, and understandings

Health/ Phys-ed:
Grade 5/6: apply skills that help them develop habits of mind that support positive motivation and perseverance as they participate in learning experiences in health and physical education, in order to promote a sense of optimism and hope
perform movement skills, demonstrating an understanding of the basic requirements of the skills and applying movement concepts as appropriate, as they engage in a variety of physical activities
