The bookkeeper/ admin is responsible for having the Independent Contractor their school/ department wants to work with sign the Independent Contractor Agreement (ICA).
Once the agreement is signed and returned to the bookkeeper, they need to make sure the pay rate that the supplier listed in Section V1 is approved by their budget holder. SSCM does not negotiate this rate unless asked by the school/department.
After the bookkeeper gets approval from their budget holder, the bookkeeper can create a New Supplier in Workday and attach this to their request. Please note, that any Independent Contractors submitted without an ICA will be sent back. This also includes reactivating an inactive supplier in Workday.
When SSCM gets the New Supplier request in Workday, we will route the ICA to the Director of SSCM to sign off on and upload into Workday.
Not sure if someone is an employee or an independent contractor? Use this Decision Matrix to help.
**SSCM will send back any old versions of the contract**
