Timetable
Your child’s timetable has been developed in line with the School’s commitment to an enhanced British curriculum and combines the rigour of academic study through the main, age appropriate curriculum subjects and co-curricular activities. The timings of the School day reflect this.
Break and Lunchtimes
Pre Prep – Nursery and Reception
Children in Nursery and Reception are offered a morning snack from 9.30am during their continuous provision time each morning. Nursery and Reception enjoy their afternoon snack during their storytime each day before their after school activity or home time. Snacks are healthy and nutritious which are easy to eat, such as a piece of fruit or a small sandwich.
Lunch will be eaten in the Dining Hall and is served between 11.20am – 12.10pm. Break times include an opportunity to explore the playgrounds outside. Please ensure your child has a DBS sunhat clearly named which will be stored in their cubby. In addition, children will need to bring in their own named water bottle each day. Water stations are available throughout the school to replenish when necessary.
Pre Prep - Year 1 and 2
Children in Years 1 and 2 have a break mid-morning between 9.30am – 10.00am, which includes a healthy snack and an opportunity to go outside and explore the playground. Please ensure your child has a DBS sunhat clearly named which will be stored in their cubby for outdoor activities.’ Children are encouraged to drink either milk or water at this time. Water should be brought into school in a bottle which your child can use independently and is clearly marked with your child’s name. Snacks are provided and will be something nutritious and easy to eat.
Lunch will be eaten in the Dining Hall between 11.20am-12.10pm. During this time, children are expected to use good table manners and behave appropriately. The lunch menus will be shared with you.
Year 1 and 2 enjoy their afternoon snack during their storytime each day before their after school activity or home time.
Prep - Year 3 – 8 and Senior - Year 9 - 13
Children in Y3-13 have a snack break mid-morning at 10.00am-10.20am and an afternoon snack at 3.10pm-3.20pm. At this time, they are encouraged to have a drink and something to eat. Drinks should be brought in an appropriate container e.g. drinks flask which your child can use independently and is clearly marked with your child’s name. Snacks are provided and will be something nutritious and easy to eat.
Lunch is at 12.20pm-1.10pm eaten in the appropriate Dining Hall. During this time, children are expected to use good table manners and behave appropriately. The lunch menus will be shared with you regularly.
DBS is a NUT-FREE SCHOOL. Nut products or peanut butter are not permitted in school as a number of our children have severe allergies. Children are not permitted to share or swap any part of their lunch with a friend.
