In a digital world student need to be strong not only in their foundation skills of using a device but the need to have a greater knowledge of how to be a better digital citizen though learning.

Trends: 

Across the district, students demonstrate strength in multimedia skills due to the ease of access to technology. However, as they gain experience with technology, they need improvement on how to utilize technology with appropriate behavior and digital citizenship. 


Goals:

Students will grow in their foundational computer skills as they progress from grade to grade and building to building. 


Students will improve their understanding of digital citizenship to be better digital natives.


Students will grow in their online computer skills as they progress from grade to grade and building to building. 


Actions: 

Define technology skills needed per grade level, as to measure attainment and growth.

Teach Digital Citizenship in all classrooms (not just LMC) as a foundational skill with the possibility of a digital literacy class at Oak Prairie.

Begin student collaboration activities in earlier grades on and off technology to learn collaboration skills.

Have students practice appropriate technology skills, habits, and digital citizenship consistently throughout the school year.
