CVA INTERNSHIPS
by Kadence Lyman and Ellowynn Kotchian
Attention underclassmen!
Did you know that Central Valley Academy offers the amazing opportunity of internships for seniors with the help of Herkimer BOCES? This is a fun and amazing chance to get real-life experience of interesting careers. There are so many different options to choose from and the list is endless! If you are stuck between two options don’t worry! CVA offers a one-day job shadowing, so you can see before if that is the road you want to travel down. Another advantage of doing a job internship is that if you prove to be dedicated to the job, the company or the person you intern under could hire you after your internship is over. Most of these internships are unpaid, but there are some that are paid as well. Here are some of the experiences of our fellow classmates and what they had to say about the internships they did.
~Zoey Brownrigg did an internship at Barringer Road Elementary school and said it was just an overall amazing experience and she would definitely recommend doing an internship to other people.
~Reagan Bishop did an internship teaching preschoolers at Fisher. She said she loved the experience and it was awesome and a really nice environment. She would recommend it because she thinks it’s good to build your resume and give you more experience in the job field you plan on pursuing.
~Aidan Prokopienko did an internship at Clinton Tractor and Implement Co. He said his experience was good and if you want more experience outside of school and are going into something mechanical, then it would be a great opportunity, and mentioned that the people there were really good people.
