Kids and Junior Youth Programming

The 2023 Canadian Unitarian Council (CUC) Symposium on Living into the 8th principle includes a children's program (Young Fun) for 0- to 13-year-olds. The program will celebrate how what makes us different makes us special! Through stories, songs, games, and times for sharing, Young Fun will explore our uniqueness and how to lift up the specialness and beauty in those around us. Informed by the ages of our participants, we will thread the themes of the 8th principle symposium into our activities, celebrating the importance of diversity and being inclusive, and speaking up for positive change in the world, in ways that are exciting for young minds.

This program has in-person participation only. The Children's Program is planned and coordinated by Sarah Baxter with helpers.

Bridging Ceremony: In person & livestreamed

The Bridging Ceremony will take place in person at the First Unitarian Congregation of Ottawa (30 Cleary Ave.) on Saturday, May 20th from 7:30-8:30 pm ET. Those under 18 should be accompanied by a parent/guardian.

This is a special occasion to mark the transitions in our lives, especially for those entering and leaving youth and young adulthood. As part of the ceremony, Junior Youth (12-13 year olds) will be welcomed into the youth community. Bridging is one of the unique rites of passage of our Unitarian Universalist faith.

This event will also be livestreamed (find your local time) to family and friends of those who are bridging.  Contact casey.stainsby@cuc.ca for the link
