Plan C - High Transmission Risk

All Students Participating in Distance Learning

In creating our distance learning plan for the 2020-2021 school-year, we considered student, parent, teacher, paraprofessional, and administrator feedback to improve upon the emergency distance learning offered from March through June. We are confident that the planned adjustments will result in a seamless transition from in-school teaching and learning to remote teaching and learning should the need arise.

  • LIVE CLASSES - Monday - Friday

    • Teachers and students will be required to connect live each day and engage in teaching and learning during scheduled hours.

    • While an entire class period or session may not be live, each class will begin with a live check-in, the objectives and expectations for the class period will be presented and students will either receive direct instruction, work in groups online, or be given the opportunity to leave the live class and work individually on their assignments.

  • ATTENDANCE

    • Attendance will be required and will be taken each day/period.

    • At this point, all attendance requirements for the State are still in effect.

  • GRADING

    • The "Do No Harm" policy utilized during emergency distance learning WILL NOT be in place for the 2020-2021 school-year.

    • Standards-based grading at the elementary schools will continue.

    • Traditional grading at the middle and high school will emphasize summative assessments (projects, presentations, proficiency-based assessments and traditional tests) with a focus on project-based learning as the foundation for grades.
