Approved School Calendar

2020-2021 School Calendar

The school calendar below was approved during the August 3, 2020 Board of Education meeting. The calendar can also be viewed with Special Observance Days on the District's website.

The September 8. 2020 start date of school allows for the following professional learning and preparation for teachers prior to students returning:

  • CONVOCATION - An annual gathering of all district faculty and staff to open the school year, celebrate milestones, and ensure alignment in mission and vision.

  • COVID-19 HEALTH AND SAFETY PROTOCOL TRAINING - All faculty and staff will participate in a standardized, mandatory training on COVID-19 specific health and safety protocols.

  • TEACHER WORK DAY - This day provides teachers the opportunity to organize their resources in their classrooms/offices/teaching areas. It will be especially important this year as all available space in the classrooms is being utilized to maximize social distancing.

  • DIVERSITY AND EQUITY TRAINING - This training will address identifying implicit bias; ensuring equity in opportunity to all regardless of race, sexual orientation, gender identification, religious beliefs, socio-economic level, and cultural background; and understanding the impact of prejudice, racism, and discrimination.

  • DISTANCE LEARNING RESOURCES - Professional learning time will be allotted to reviewing, becoming familiar with, and planning to incorporate a variety of Google Chrome-compatible resources that can be used in distance learning.
