Christ the King School
It is our goal at Christ the King to continue to properly preserve and maintain our beautiful gym and field over the long term. Proper use and daily maintenance helps to keep the court and field safe for our students and players while also maintaining the integrity of these facilities. These guidelines must be followed when using the CTK gymnasium or field. It is the CTK Adminstrations responsibility to oversee the management and care of these facilities. Should these guidelines not be adhered to, privileges will be revoked permanently.
GYM Guidelines
Rules
No climbing or on the bleachers in the closed position
No throwing or kicking balls against wall or up in the air
No rolling wheels on floor (ex. bicycles, tricycles, skates, skateboards, etc. )
No blow up bouncy houses/tents on floor
No heavy equipment on the floor (including chairs)
No jumping off bleachers in open position
No crawling under bleachers
No eating in the gym (game days excluded)
No drinks in the gym (water during practices and on the bench during games)
No gum/candy in gym
No painting material in the gym
No jumping up purposely to hit basketball nets or hitting rubber edging on bottom of basketball goals
No tape of any kind should be used on the finished wood floor
No basketballs or volleyballs are to be brought to the gym or any other gym by coaches or players
No dribbling, kicking or throwing balls at any time in the gym hallway
No playing with the P.E. equipment or supplies
If cones are used, put back in proper place
Volleyball net and poles will be in the gym on the floor next to the bleachers
No pulling on net
Adults only set up poles
Shoes
Boots and cleated shoes are not allowed because they damage the floor surfaces
Only shoes with non-marking soles are allowed
Boots of any kind, clogs or sandals (open toe or open back) may not be worn ever
No skating shoes are allowed
It is recommended that basketball shoes be changed into once inside the gym (helps keep the elements from outdoors from scratching floor)
ONLY TENNIS SHOES WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE GYM FLOOR
Daily Care
The last team in the gym each day will be responsible for cleaning by picking up trash and putting away equipment
Wipe balls and other equipment using a disinfectant
Never clean the gym floors with water
Sweep the floor with dry dust mop at least 3 times a day (prior to practice or games beginning)
Clean floor with diluted floor cleaner once a day (facilities will handle)
Wipe liquid spills and water from the floor immediately with a wrung soft cloth
Field Guidelines
Rules
No moving soccer goals or weighted bags
No throwing or kicking balls against outside gym walls
No rolling wheels on field (ex. bicycles, tricycles, skates, skateboards, etc. )
No outdoor chairs of any kind on the field
No inflatables or heavy equipment on the field
No jumping off bleachers
No gum/candy or any food/drink of any kind on the field
No painting material on the field
No jumping up or grabbing up the soccer goal bars or nets
No throwing footballs in the nets as they will rip the nets
If football pads are used, put back in proper place
Shoes
No spiked cleats are allowed because they damage the field surface
Only soccer cleats are allowed on the field
