Praying for your families to feel the peace, presence and assurance that God is with you.
After the sunsets we talked about last month there is the darkness of the night and then the sunrise. I love to run when the sun is coming up and I can think about what the new day holds. As we look towards 2019, we are looking to a sunrise of sorts. A new day, new chapter and new roles to fill as we serve at FamilyLife.
I am really excited and looking forward to serving those that attend our Weekend to Remember events all over the country as an Event Planner. This fiscal year we have 95 events scheduled with an attendance goal of 62,500! That is a lot of opportunities to share the hope of the Gospel and God’s plan for marriage to a culture that desperately needs both.
I will begin training for my new role at the Saint Louis Weekend to Remember in December. My training will continue through the spring with events in Appleton, Redondo Beach, and will conclude in Kalamazoo. On May 31st, I will be responsible for my first solo event in Charlotte. As we approach the empty nest phase of our marriage, Angie will also be praying and seeking God’s direction for how she will continue to serve and what role she will fill. (The men pictured below are part of the planner team.)
Early moring sunrise on the beach in South Padre.
This is part of the Planner team that I will be joining.
This past weekend I had an amazing privilege to be in South Padre and be part of God’s redemptive plan. We prayed for every person that attended and He reached into a ballroom where 436 people came to hear about His love for them and His plan for marriage. The most awesome part was that 37 people responded to the Gospel for the first time. Their lives, legacy and marriages will truly be changed forever!
When you see a sunrise this week please remember to lift us as we look to the future and begin to learn the new roles we will serve in as we move forward. This month we choose to reflect on the fact that God knows what lies on the path ahead and already knows the plans He has for us and we can rest in that.
"Thank you for sponsoring us. As a pastor, I needed this. I was drifting away in a subtle way, but was able to reconnect and move toward oneness with my spouse. I preach this, teach this, etc.; however, this weekend I wasn’t a mouthpiece but rather received an earpiece and heard God’s voice!" Pastor married 24 years
"I didn’t think my marriage needed much help. However, after each session, I realized areas we indeed needed dire help. The speakers were so down-to-earth and didn’t make me feel judged because of the state my marriage was in." Wife - married 7 years
Praise that the Art of Parenting class we had was great. It sparked many great conversations around the tables and helped all that came focus on the purpose and plan for parenting.
Praise for the additional support God has provided and continue to pray for us as we raise additional support to cover increased expenses and to replace lost support.
Pray for Brandon as he takes the ACT on December the 8th.
Pray for us during this holiday season as we have more firsts without my brother, Bobby.
Pray for me as I go to my first training in Saint Louis.
