Praying for your families to feel the peace, presence and assurance that God is with you.
After leading FamilyLife® in strengthening tens of millions of marriages and families around the world for more than four decades, on August 2, 2017, Dennis Rainey announced to the FamilyLife staff members, donors, FamilyLife Today radio listeners and volunteers across the country that David Robbins will succeed him later this fall as president and CEO of FamilyLife, a ministry of Cru. David and his wife, Meg, have four children, currently live in Manhattan, and have been on staff with Cru for 17 years.
“If we want to effectively reach and support the coming generations of marriages and families, we need a leader who is committed to the authority of the Scriptures, and is uniquely connected to and understanding of the issues associated with those generations. "Barbara and I are fully confident that David and his wife, Meg, embody the commitment, experience, passion and vision needed to lead FamilyLife into the future.” Dennis Rainey
David and Meg love to help people experience Jesus, and to holistically integrate faith, work, family and mission into their lives. Their focus over the past five years has been the Millennial generation⎯a group that is increasingly strategic as FamilyLife looks to the future. The Robbins lead the Millennials ministry in New York City, an initiative they founded to reach 20- and 30-somethings, and to build a network in that city to help them find their place and purpose. David is also the national facilitator for the Cru City Millennials ministry, where he shepherds new leaders in 12 U.S. cities. Here’s a little of what David feels about family:
“Meg and I observe how marriage and parenting are some of the few areas in an increasingly secular world that people are willing to listen to a Christian perspective and worldview. We have witnessed that personal crisis in marriage and parenting provide opportunities to enter into conversations time and time again.” David Robbins
Dennis is not retiring completely and has agreed to continue hosting FamilyLife Today® at least through 2018, which can be heard in all 50 states through more than 1,100 radio stations, reaching an estimated audience of 1.6 million listeners weekly. In addition, Dennis will continue to speak, write, and serve as a global ambassador for FamilyLife and our mission of developing godly marriages and families. He will also be around to mentor David and ensure a strong transition. Barbara will continue in her passion to equip women, wives and moms to pass on their faith through her Ever Thine Home resources and blog.
I hope you will join Angie and me in our excitement about what God has in store for FamilyLife and the new leadership that He has provided.
