Chad Red Cross

Project - Strengthening community autonomy through effective community mobilisation by the Chad Red Cross.

The project aims to contribute to the resilience and autonomy of communities and state institutions in the face of multiple risks by establishing inclusive and sustainable prevention and preparedness mechanisms that promote effective community mobilisation.

To this end, support is being provided for the establishment and revitalisation of a pool of CRC volunteers with various emergency response skills.

Morocco Red Crescent

Provide high-quality psychological/psychosocial assistance tailored to the needs of vulnerable populations, particularly in disaster situations

Following the 2023 earthquake in Morocco, various projects were launched to support the Morocco Red Crescent and affected communities. This project aims to improve the mental health and psychosocial well-being of individuals affected by the disaster. In particular, it seeks to prevent psychosocial hazards (PSH) among MRC employees and volunteers by implementing a structured action plan. After assessing needs and the context, a tailored support methodology is defined to develop an action plan. This includes initial training on PSH and stress management techniques, leadership workshops for managers, the establishment of support groups after traumatic interventions, and a regular supervision mechanism providing  emotional support and ongoing training.

Interreg 2025 Project - Training Plan Workshop - Indian Ocean.

As part of efforts to strengthen the training plan with PIROI's operational partners in the Indian Ocean, several workshops are being held. A Bioforce methodological training workshop (humanitarian project coordination, financial management and team management), training on mobile data collection (introduction to the use of tools) and strategic support to the Mauritian Red Cross for structuring its training and development offer (staff and volunteers).

3 Oceans Project - Organisation of 2 national workshops on the development of training programmes plans for NSs - National Societies in the Indian Ocean

National workshops are to be held in two National Societies in 2024 and 2025 to support the consolidation and formalisation of training programmes for teams, subsequently making it possible to define strategic training plans and coordinate the planning of activities.

3 Oceans Project - Strengthening the role of auxiliary to public authorities - Comorian Red Crescent

The Comorian Red Crescent played a key role in analysing the DM legal framework, leading to the passing of a DM law in 2024 that formally recognises the Comorian Red Crescent's role as an auxiliary to public authorities.

Internal and external workshops are being organised to strengthen the capacities of the Comorian Red Cross and public authorities in the areas of disaster law and advocacy initiatives (training of trainers). The implementation of the new legislation and its strategy will be carried out through the creation of a Technical Working Group responsible for defining and presenting a national action plan. This action plan will ultimately be tested by the Comorian Red Cross in 2026 through a simulation exercise, followed by a lessons learned workshop to make any necessary adjustments.

PPP Project - Accelerating local action in humanitarian and health crises in the Democratic Republic of Congo

The project contributed to strengthening the DRC Red Cross's data management capacities through training in the ODK tool, as well as in community engagement and accountability.

Strenghthening the CAR RC Human Resources system

Following a final diagnosis in July 2022, the FRC committed to supporting the Central African RC in strengthening its HR department through the deployment of an assigned representative.

Morocoo Red Crescent

Project - Development project for the Moroccan Red Crescent branch in Taroudant

This project aims to contribute to the sustainable strengthening of the organisational, technical and operational capacities of the provincial branch of the Moroccan Red Crescent (CRM) in Taroudant, enabling it to respond effectively and independently to humanitarian and community needs.

The skills of volunteers are strengthened and the pool of volunteers is structured and expanded through the development and implementation of continuious education programmes and an action plan for recruiting and retaining volunteers.

Morocoo Red Crescent

Project - Implementation of a volunteer management system for the Moroccan Red Crescent.

This project aims to improve the National Societies' capacity to recruit, retain, manage and engage volunteers in an effective and safe manner, in accordance with humanitarian principles. To achieve this, a volunteer data management system is being implemented to improve responsiveness in emergency situations, make information about volunteers available for decision-making and simplify communication with partners.

With a vision of improving the volunteer policy, a volunteer management manual is also included in this project in coordination with the German Red Cross.

Cameroon Red Cross

Project to strengthen the safety of Cameroon Red Cross volunteers

The project aims to strengthen the safety of volunteers in connection with strengthening nutritional resilience and access to sexual and reproductive health services for vulnerable populations in the health districts of Makary and Mada, Logone and Chari department in the Far North region of Cameroon.

Ukrainian Red Cross

Branch development and volunteering management 


The BraVo project, carried out by 11 PNS and the ICRC, plays a fundamental role in strengthening the capacity of the Ukrainian RC to respond to the crisis in Ukraine.


Phase 1 of the project aimed at strengthening the 156 local branches and 24 regional branches of the Ukrainian RC to ensure humanitarian aid.


Phase 2 of the project intends to strengthen the sustainability of local and regional branches by developing volunteering and improving leadership and mobilising resources.


The FRC is participating in the BraVo project allowing for strengthening of branch development as well as their ability to attract and retain volunteers of the regional branch of Lviv.


The main areas of focus include attracting volunteers, improving leadership and mobilising resources.

3 Oceans Project - Setting up a volunteer management system - Vanuatu Red Cross

The activity consists of responding favourably to the VRCS's request for a modern and efficient IT tool to manage its Human Resources database. The support provided will take the form of installing a reference volunteer management system selected in early 2024 by the IFRC, with the FRC forming part of the project's steering committee.

In doing so, the Vanuatu Red Cross will benefit from all the experience already accumulated by the developer in terms of functionality and will have the necessary guarantees to support the implementation of the tool and ensure its sustainability.

3 Oceans Project - Setting up a volunteer management system - Fiji Red Cross

The Fiji Red Cross already has a tool that was implemented some time before the project began. However, this NS is facing technical bugs and other functionality issues that were identified during the first few months of using the software. Project support is required to help fix the issues and stabilise this solution.

Malagasy Red Cross

PPP Project - Boosting local action during humanitarian and health crises in Madagascar

The project aims to support the Malagasy Red Cross in designing a training plan for its volunteers, including members of the governing body. The project aims to support the Malagasy Red Cross in developing a training plan for its volunteers, including members of the governing body. This support aims to standardise skills pathways and training provided at the national level, while guiding partners' support for capacity building.

The project contributed to improve volunteer management within the National Society, notably through the implementation of a dedicated database and the organisation of training courses relative to branch development.

Finally, training sessions on Excel use have been organised, strengthening the skills of Malagasy Red Cross members in this field.

Chad Red Cross

PPP Project - Boosting local action during humanitarian and health crises in Chad 

This project aims to strengthen organisational capacities of the Chad Red Cross provincial committees. 

A diagnostic workshop in organisational development was organised, allowing specific roadmaps to be developed for each provincial committee.

A BOCA was used to assess the strengths and areas for improvement of the CRC branches.

Support was provided for the implementation of a volunteer database in 2 provinces. A workshop was carried out about resource mobilisation with the aim to mobilise income for the Chad Red Cross.
