ONGOING INITIATIVE
Provide high-quality psychological/psychosocial assistance tailored to the needs of vulnerable populations, particularly in disaster situations
Following the 2023 earthquake in Morocco, various projects were launched to support the Morocco Red Crescent and affected communities. This project aims to improve the mental health and psychosocial well-being of individuals affected by the disaster. In particular, it seeks to prevent psychosocial hazards (PSH) among MRC employees and volunteers by implementing a structured action plan. After assessing needs and the context, a tailored support methodology is defined to develop an action plan. This includes initial training on PSH and stress management techniques, leadership workshops for managers, the establishment of support groups after traumatic interventions, and a regular supervision mechanism providing emotional support and ongoing training.

Project - Implementation of a volunteer management system for the Moroccan Red Crescent.
This project aims to improve the National Societies' capacity to recruit, retain, manage and engage volunteers in an effective and safe manner, in accordance with humanitarian principles. To achieve this, a volunteer data management system is being implemented to improve responsiveness in emergency situations, make information about volunteers available for decision-making and simplify communication with partners.
With a vision of improving the volunteer policy, a volunteer management manual is also included in this project in coordination with the German Red Cross.

Project - Development project for the Moroccan Red Crescent branch in Taroudant
This project aims to contribute to the sustainable strengthening of the organisational, technical and operational capacities of the provincial branch of the Moroccan Red Crescent (CRM) in Taroudant, enabling it to respond effectively and independently to humanitarian and community needs.
This strengthening is evident in several areas of intervention.
In order to ensure financial autonomy, technical support for the development of a resource mobilisation strategy and assistance with the implementation of income-generating initiatives are being provided. Similarly, training for staff and volunteers is underway on the theme of transparent financial management.
The skills of volunteers are strengthened and the pool of volunteers is structured and expanded through the development and implementation of continuious education programmes and an action plan for recruiting and retaining volunteers.
In addition, support is provided for the construction of infrastructure and the development of spaces (needs assessment, purchase of furniture and bureaucratic, IT and logistical equipment) for the branch's activities and humanitarian responses.
