Objective 4: Support the NS in establishing the conditions for an organisational development

 ONGOING INITIATIVES

Caribbean

3 Oceans Project - Support and development of an action plan on PGI - National societies in the Caribbean area

A summary of the existing legislative framework on PGI at a regional level and by project intervention area will be produced. This will enable the scope within which national societies must focus their strategy to comply with the commitments made in this sector to be presented to their governing bodies.

In a second phase, links will be made with the strategic plans of the National Societies to identify the guidelines/commitments that they can implement to better take into account PGI issues in their actions and day-to-day management.

NS teams will be trained to conduct gender and protection analyses related to climate change and to carry out specific regular activities (clarification of values, deconstruction of gender stereotypes, links between PGI and DRM).

Project duration : 01/01/2024 - 31/12/2026

Financial partner : AFD

Indian Ocean

Malagasy Red Cross

3 Oceans Project - Development and implementation of the PSEA policy - Madagascar Red Cross

Support for the development of a PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) policy by the Malagasy Red Cross will be provided through consultation and workshop meetings. Prior to this, a community survey will be conducted to identify the preferred channels and activities for reporting complaints and sharing information among the various communities. An incident management mechanism will be created through the establishment of an incident and complaint management committee. The PSEA policy will need to provide for PSEA training for volunteers and branches.
