AP Psychology

AP Psychology is designed to introduce students to the systematic and scientific study of the behavior and mental processes of human beings and other animals.

Students are exposed to the psychological facts, principles, and phenomena associated with each of the major subfields within psychology. They also learn about the ethics and methods psychologists use in their science and practice.

Students take the Advanced Placement Examination in May. Their score on this exam may qualify them for college credit or advanced standing.


Requirements: Summer Assignment, AP Exam in May

Prerequisite: Departmental Approval

Recommended: Grade of 80 or better in preceding S.S. class, Grade of 85 or better in S.S. 10, superior reading and writing skills.


*Successful students should plan to spend approximately 5 hours per week outside of class on this course.
